What is Quinoa?

Quinoa is considered to be a whole grain but it is actually a seed. It originates in the Andes Mountains in South America. Although it is a seed, it can be prepared similarly to rice or barley.

Quinoa is a good source of iron, magnesium, vitamin E, potassium, phosphorus and fiber.  It is a complete protein, containing all eight of the essential amino acids. It is also gluten fre. It is for this reason that the United Nations declared it a supercrop.

Perfect Way To Cook Quinoa

INGREDIENTS
1 cup washed quinoa
2 cups filtered water
1 tbsp coconut or sesame oil
1 tsp turmeric
pinch of salt and pepper to taste
